What is a Cycle Count? How to create a cycle count task?
Cycle counting is the periodic counting of individual products in your field or remote inventory periodically and as required to ensure the accuracy of your field or remote inventory quantities and values.
Ventory's Cycle Count feature helps customers accurately and efficiently count their field or remote inventory to maintain precise quantities.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to create a Cycle Count task for a user:
Step 1 : Navigate to “Tasks” > Click on the three dots in the top right corner and select "New" to create a new task.
Step 2: Go to the Task Type dropdown, select "Cycle Count," and then click "Next.”
Step 3 : In the Stock Location dropdown, select the stock location where you want to perform the cycle count.
Step 4: If you have any, enter an External Reference, then click "Next."
Note: External Reference is a text field where you can write notes, instructions, or any information about your locations, users, specific directions, products, or the task itself.
Step 5 : On this step, you can either choose to perform Cycle Count on all the products in a Bin or choose to perform Cycle Count on specific products.
To count all products in a Bin, select the Bin and click "Next." You can select one or multiple Bins to count in one task.
OR,
To count specific products, select the products and click "Next." You can select one or multiple products to count in one task.
Step 6: Check the box if you want to validate the quantity of non-serialized products; otherwise, leave it blank. Then, click "Next.”
This field determines what the user see on their mobile application when doing the cycle count of a non-serialized item. If unchecked, the initial quantity is set to the expected quantity and if checked, the initial quantity is always zero.
Step 7 : Select the “Users” you want to assign this task to. This user will be responsible for executing the Cycle Count task. Click on “Next”
Step 8: If you want the Cycle Count to be completed by the Assigned User within a certain period. Set the Due Date. This field is not mandatory. Go to “Next”
Step 9: Select the additional users that should receive a report of the Cycle Count task once completed. Go to “Finish”
Step 10: A Cycle Count task will be successfully created. Navigate to your task and click on it to see all the information of the Cycle Count.
